Giving the Gift of Sparkle

A Local Mompreneur Finds Success with Camilee Designs

May 17, 2017

If you are looking for a beautiful Grandparent's Day present, or if you're getting a jumpstart on your Holiday shopping, then you should look at what Camilee Designs has to offer! Stunning jewelry made of high quality gems and metals at affordable prices!

About 12 years ago, Cami's husband (then boyfriend) bought her a pair of earrings and a necklace at Nordstrom. She peeked the price, and her jaw dropped, and she thought, "I could probably make these."

So, she bought some books and purchased similar beads at a local bead store and recreated the pieces.  After that she went on her own mission to learn all that she could about jewelry and jewelry making and she fell in love with gemstones.

Through this process she created her style, which is changing and evolving over time. But one thing that remains constant is that she prefers high quality stones and metals and she doesn't compromise on that.

Camilee Designs was founded in 2002 when Cami says she left a promising career as a Telecommunications Analyst for a major bank in order to bootstrap her hobby - jewelry making - into a business.

From the very first week in business she said she was overwhelmed and humbled by the positive feedback and sales that came in.

Business grew steadily until 2007 when her daughter, Molly, was born.  At 2 weeks old, Molly was diagnosed with a rare form of pediatric cancer.  Between surgeries, chemo, and caring for an infant, Cami felt that she had to shut down her business.

Three years later, Molly is a healthy, energetic 3 1/2 year old.  And Cami squeezes in designing, purchasing, shipping and marketing when she's not kissing ouchies or making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

The jewelry that Cami creates and sells is made of precious metals and semi-precious and precious gemstones.  She strives to create quality pieces that are timeless and easy-to-wear.
