Kitsap Community Resources Head Start/EHS/ECEAP
Preschool locations in Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo, Silverdale, East and West Bremerton.
Head Start, Early Head Start & ECEAP are federally and state funded programs designed to help children from low income families succeed in school. These programs offer curriculum based education, health & nutrition services and family support.
We offer the following program options:
• FREE Part Day preschool (ages 3-5) for qualifying families. Part Day programs are in session from September through May/June.
• Full Day programs for infants, toddlers and preschoolers which combine Early Head Start or Head Start services with licensed child care. Families need to qualify for services. Program accepts child care subsidies or private pay for child care hours Full Day programs go all year long.
• Home Base services are for prenatal, infant, toddler and preschool age children. Families need to qualify for services. A Home Visitor comes to the family's home once a week for 1 1/2 hours. The Home Visitor works with the parent(s) and child together. Once a month, a parent and child activity is planned so children can interact with other children. The program goes all year long and is FREE.
We serve children with specials needs and typically developing children.
Priority for placement is given to homeless families, children in foster care and families receiving TANF cash assistance.
Applications for all the programs can be found at any WIC office, the KCR website or at our main office at 1201 Park Avenue, Bremerton 98337.
Programs are funded by the Office of Head Start or the Department of Early Learning.
