Parenting {Moms} Groups, Clubs, Meet-Ups and More!
Get connected with other local, like-minded parents
County-wide, there is no shortage of parenting groups for parents and caregivers! Here are some of them:
MOMS Club is a national non-profit organization with hundreds of chapters across the country. We are just for you – the at-home mother of today, including those who have home-based businesses and those who work part-time, but are home with their children during the day! For more information on International MOMS Club go to http://momsclub.org. The Port Orchard chapter has monthly socials with special speakers, calendar planning and discussions. Our activities include playgroups, park play days, family get-togethers, field trips, a monthly MOMS Night Out or Afternoon Away, and so much more! We also host Toddler Time, an indoor open play for infant to 4 year olds. In addition, we host Port Orchard's beloved Daddy Daughter Dance. With the funds generated from this event, our club is able to donate to various charities and participate in several community service projects through out the year. Best of all, our activites are during the day, when at-home mothers need the most support! For information on joining our chapter: 360-908-MOMS or [email protected].
The Kitsap Adoption Group (KAG) is a non-profit organization committed to helping families and children find each other through adoption. We are located in Kitsap county in Washington state. Whether you are adopting domestically or internationally, KAG offers information, resources, local contacts and support for your family. KAG provides adoption centered activities for the whole family: cultural events, picnics, play groups and panel discussions. KAG also holds monthly dinners. Membership is $20/year per family and supports many of our activities. We are an officially chartered 503(c) non-profit and are governed by a board of directors. Join our group on Facebook (here), too! The email and phone contact info: kitsapadoptiong[email protected] and 360-662-0630 to reach Gayle Kohler, group president.

Island Moms of Bainbridge Island
Islandmoms is a diverse online group based on community and respect. Bainbridge Island community members participate in our group to exchange information and discuss issues of importance to families. We share news, inform each other of upcoming events, organize play dates, pool resources, offer assistance, and form friendships. Our members compose their posts with respect for others and respect for our group guidelines. We all take responsibility for making this online manifestation of our island a welcoming and inclusive community. Please read the following before deciding to join our group. Our primary purpose is to connect our community via our main Islandmoms forum, but we also provide two promotional forums for member use. **Only one promotional thread is allowed per month, and advertising or promotion is never allowed on the main Islandmoms forum.** Please read our guidelines on promotion, and respect them. By doing so, you can get the word out about your business, class, or event, and members can get this information without feeling spammed.
Bethany Lutheran Parent Outreach
Bethany Lutheran offers two opportunities specifically designed for parents together with their birth to three year olds and 2-5 year olds. The first is held on Sunday mornings when we have a great little class from 9:45-10:45 where we play, have a Bible story, sing, do a craft and have a snack. The neat piece is that parents are encouraged to stay with their child allowing parents with children the same ages and similar interests an opportunity to connect and form lifelong friendships with others who are in the same phase of life. There is no cost for this program.
The second is Power-Hour, part preschool and part parenting workshop, we believe that parents are truly children's first and most influential teachers. Our classes are for 2-5 years olds together with their caregivers! We meet once a week for an hour that is jam packed with music, finger plays, Bible stories, crafts, literacy, math, large and small motor skills, science, social studies and books led by passionate, trained and experienced teachers. The mornings are fun for children and fabulous for parents because we supply lots of ideas for helping your kids to blossom at home too! We also offer an optional Power for Parenting Bible Study from 10:00-10:30 while children have important free play time with their friends and Power-Hour teachers. $25 for 8 weeks! Siblings that are 2-5 years pay a reduced rate of $20. Infant siblings are welcome at no charge. Bethany Lutheran Church, School and Early Learning Center 151 Tremont W Port Orchard, WA 98366. Phone: (360) 876-1300. Questions? Contact Melissa Pittenger at [email protected]
