   As a mother of 5 I was continuously disappointed in the traditional department store and school portraits of my family. I always felt rushed and ended up with portraits that left much to be desired. Editing was sometimes offered at an additional fee, of course, but I was often surprised that they wanted to charge me to turn an image to black and white. The images themselves were whatever the photographer could get in our allotted 15 minutes and were completely unedited. At my sons’ one year session, not only were there a stack of props in the corner of the studio that were never offered to me, I didn’t realize until after I had ordered and received the prints that I had left a price tag on the bottom of his shoe. Due to the non-edited images, at that point nothing could be done. The backgrounds offered were always fake looking and outdated. By some chance that a nice shot did come out it always ended up being very costly to get the actual prints that I wanted for myself and to share with friends and family. I did the next logical thing and did try some local photographers then after receiving very over edited images on a CD mailed to my house in a Ziploc sandwich bag and my last name written on the CD with a marker I had had enough.

  I am a southern girl who has an attention to detail and the patience required to produce images you will be proud to own and proud to share. As well as other issues, department chain studios tend to leave out the details. You are not just having a session done for your child or family but, in essence, documenting that exact time in your and their lives. I believe that even with a toddler or teen your session should include shots of hands and feet as well as their sweet faces. My oldest child is close to graduating high school and seeing her grow up I often wish I had professional images of her hands that were once so tiny and fragile.

   This is where I come in! I started this business to solve my photo issues and continue to do the same for others. I shoot on location or in a studio. I allow plenty of time in a relaxed environment so I as a photographer and you as a client get exactly the images we both want. I have a numerous prop collection that I am always adding to and love for them to be used. Have an idea for a certain shot? Just let me know and I will make it happen. All images are gently edited, enhancing color and taking care of any issues that may not be noticed at the session. It’s icky, but to be honest it happens and you wouldn’t believe how many times I have photo shopped a booger or two after a toddler session!

   I specialize in maternity, newborns, children, family, couples and seniors. My pricing is very reasonable and lower than most photographers in the area. All sessions receive a CD with hi-resolution, edited images and copyright printing release. This is very convenient for most clients so they can easily share images online and have them printed at the location and in sizes of their choice. If you would rather order prints through me I can accommodate that as well.
