Aaaahhh.... the start of a new year. A time of renewal. A time of change.... or is it?

For me, change happens thoughtout the year and usually without notice.  There is rarely (ok, never) a big announcement from a mountaintop or a quick Facebook status to report that I'm going to exercise more or get better organized. Instead, sometime throughout the year I might decide, 'hey, today I'm going to try running 14 miles instead of 7.' Or, 'today I'm going to organize the shelves and put things in totes with a lable, a-la Martha Stewart.' Nope, I just do it. And, hopefully it sticks.

If I only resolved to improve myself at the start of each calendar year, I'd be in trouble. Instead, any day of the year I give myself permission to take on any new challenge, try something different, and tackle life in a whole new way. Approching life refreshed is a key to happiness, and if I only had that key once a year I'd be.... well, (ironically) unhappy.
