My kids love Halloween, but they really don’t need all that candy. Several local dentist offices participate in the Candy Buy Back program.
This is how it works: Kids take their Halloween candy to local dentists participating in the program (listed below) where the kids receive a cash (typically $1 a pound) for the candy they turn in. Dentists package it all up and donate it by sending the candy to U.S. troops or charitable organizations.
Macaroni KID Kitsap has found three local Halloween Candy Buy Back programs that are are happening in Kitsap County this year.
Healthy Teeth Dental Care in Port Orchard - 4-6pm on Nov. 1 - They will buy your kids' candy for $1 per pound up to $5 (per child)
Kitsap Kid's Dentistry in Bremerton - 4-6pm on Nov. 1 - They will buy your kids' candy for $1/pound (max 5 pounds)
Bainbridge Kids Dentistry - 12-4pm on Nov. 1 - They will buy your kids' candy for $1/pound (max 5 pounds)
The Kids' Dentist Silverdale - 8am-5pm on Nov. 1 and 2, and 7am-2pm on Nov. 3 - They will buy your kids' candy for $2 the first pound, $1 for each additional pound (max 10 pounds)
