Based on the 1900 novel by L. Frank Baum and the 1939 film version written by Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson, and Edgar Allan Woolf, the most beloved tale of all time will come to life on the stage in June 2025. Dorothy and her three friends trot delightfully and tunefully down that fabled road of yellow brick in The Wizard of Oz.
After a tornado whisks her away to the magical land of Oz, young Dorothy Gale teams up with a Scarecrow, a Tin Woodsman, and a Cowardly Lion to find the mighty Wizard of Oz, who can send her home.
Along the way, they must avoid the clutches of the Wicked Witch of the West, who is trying to steal the mysterious magic slippers that once belonged to her evil sister… but are now on Dorothy’s feet. Dorothy eventually learns just how magical friendship can be and how wonderful it can feel to go home again.

Kitsap Children’s Musical Theatre (KCMT) is a 501(c)(3) production company for youth ages 8-18. Run entirely by parent volunteers, teen interns and adult mentors, KCMT has been awarded Organization of the Year by Poulsbo’s Chamber of Commerce and voted Best of North Kitsap by readers of the North Kitsap Herald. KCMT’s mission is to provide opportunities for youth in developing life skills, character, and musical theatre excellence through the experience of Broadway-style production.
