As we welcome the long, warm days of summer, Poulsbo Parks and Recreation is excited to share the many new and returning opportunities waiting for families in our parks and programs. This season is a celebration of community connection, outdoor adventure and lifelong memories-just as it should be.
July is National Parks and Recreation Month!
Come celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month with us! We have a variety of FREE activities for you. The first Summer Nights at the Bay concert, presented by Integrity Roofing and Construction, is on Tuesday, July 8 from 6-8pm at Muriel Williams Waterfront Park. Leading us off this year is the always popular Navy Band Northwest. Bring the family, pick up some delicious dinner at one of Poulsbo’s restaurants, and come eat, relax, dance and enjoy the music. Concerts will run each Tuesday through August 12 and include a variety of great bands and genres. For the full concert schedule, visit https://cityofpoulsbo.com/parks-recreation/summer-nights-at-the-bay/.
School is out and the last thing you want to hear from your kids is that they are bored! Check out our amazing variety of summer camps for all ages. We still have room in many of them, but don’t wait too long, because they are starting to fill up. To find out more about these and other summer programs, visit https://cityofpoulsbo.com/parks-recreation-class-activity-brochure/.
Other FREE activities include Pop-up Play in the Park at Lions and Raab Parks, the Raab Park Youth Garden on Mondays running through July 28, Summer Active Yoga in the Park on Friday mornings at M. Williams Waterfront Park, and Laughter Yoga in the Park. We also have free trials of Clogging, Human Reformer Pilates and Barre classes, and our ongoing free Tai Chi and Senior Lifelong Fitness and Health classes.
We also have some new low-cost outdoor family activities. Interested in learning Disc Golf? We have a new program that will introduce the family to this growing sport. Do you have nature lovers in the family? Learn about our local flora and fauna during a Washington Wildlife Walk at Poulsbo’s Fish Park. And for the art enthusiasts, we have Pastels in the Park at several different parks.
