At Bella Bella Bakery, we see cupcakes do a lot more than satisfy a sweet tooth. We’ve seen them become birthday traditions, after-school pick-me-ups, even peace offerings between bickering siblings. But once a year, cupcakes become something else entirely: a canvas.
We’re talking about our annual Create-a-Cupcake Contest! A celebration of big imaginations, bold flavors, and more glitter and frosting than you can shake a whisk at.
Here’s how it works: kids and teens (up through high school) design their dream cupcake. They can enter as many times as they want: drawings, wild flavor combos, magical names, the works. Unicorn confetti? Go for it. A cupcake inspired by their favorite video game character? We’ve seen it. Cupcakes that look like spaghetti? Yes. (And surprisingly tasty.)
We narrow it down to 36 finalists and post them to our social media on Tuesday, September 2. Voting will be open through Sunday, September 7, and the 12 entries with the most likes will become real cupcakes, featured in our bakery case on Sunday, September 14.
Each winner gets a cupcake set aside just for them, and the entry with the most votes will also win a six-pack of their cupcake creation to share...or keep all to themselves, we don’t judge. All 12 winning creations will also be available for pre-order for anyone who wants to support the young bakers.
Entries are open now through August 31. So hand your kid a pencil, some markers, or a napkin and a dream. The next cupcake in our case could be theirs!
