This idea was sparked by a Green Kids Crafts post I saw on Facebook this past week. It looked too easy and they were TOO cute to pass up! We spent a half-day off from school this week making a bunch of them to decorate with and give to friends. Each one is unique and super adorable. I thought you might like to try making some!
What you'll need:
Sidewalk chalk (I used the broken pieces that were too small to write with anymore)
Cotton balls
Googly eyes
Orange felt
Glue gun
What you'll do:
1. Crush the sidewalk chalk inside plastic baggies. (Separate bags for each color)
2. Place a cotton ball inside the baggie and shake it around until it's all covered.
Because I wanted to use as little chalk as possible, for us it worked best doing on cotton ball at a time.
3. Glue two cotton balls together. Careful! Hot glue gun should only be used by an adult.
4. Cut a beak and feet out of felt and glue them to chick's body.
5. Glue on eyes.
That's it! We found that different beak shapes and sizes make for different expressions, as do the size of the eyes and their placement. Small eyes would work great, these were just the only ones we had on hand. :)
