This is a great Halloween party idea for kindergarten and up, and just takes a little time on your end to set up. The kids are sure to love it!
What you need:
Black and/or Orange Yarn - 1 long length per child
Small "prizes" - 1 per child
Empty toilet paper rolls or card-sized heavy duty cardboard pieces - 1 per child, for the kids to wind the yarn around.
Black construction paper - for cutting out large spider silhouettes
Set - up:
Tie a piece of yarn to the prize, then hide the prize. Next, start unraveling the attached yarn, weaving it under and around furniture, through doors...wherever - be creative! When you're finished, attach the toilet paper roll or cardboard to the yarn with tape. Do the same
thing for as many children as you have participating. When you're finished, your living room (or your house!) should look like a gigantic spider web with all the strings woven over and through each other. Place the spider silhouettes on top of the yarn throughout the web for more Halloween atmosphere!
You may want to number the cardboard pieces and assign each child a number so he or she knows where to start, or just have each one to pick a roll and get started looking for their treasure! If you have younger children, you may also want to use different color pieces of yarn for each one child, making it a little easier for them to follow their own strings through the web to their prize.
