The Bug & Reptile Museum: Free Exhibits of Live Reptiles and Insects

July 9, 2021

The Bug & Reptile Museum, located in Bremerton, is a terrific way to experience everything related to bugs and reptiles! Stop by the free museum after school and on weekends, with your homeschool kids, with your preschool or daycare, a class on a field trip, and especially on Halloween (watch for information on this in October!).

Kids of all ages (and adults!) will walk away amazed and filled with a newfound understanding of the day-to-day life of all of both bugs and reptiles. Check out their newest exhibits of live reptiles and insects - and get excited to learn more about the world around you!

Discover what makes Angela the Rainbow Boa unique from other snakes and observe the difference between turtles and tortoises firsthand. Tarantula Alley is a fun way to see a variety of spiders close up. The Bug Museum is a great way to foster your child’s interest in nature. Snap a photo with Irwin, the American Alligator and learn fun facts about his jaws and loud roars. Check out our 8-foot ant farm to see how ants work together to survive and get a close up of Madagascar Hissing Roaches - there's so much to see! We offer a fun and safe environment for kids (and adults) to learn about everything related to bugs.

After visiting our bugs and reptiles, make sure to stop by the Nature Gift Store. You'll find a variety of fun STEM based toys to take home and conduct your own experiments with plus awesome books on bugs and nature to help your child learn even more. Looking to take home your own bug catchers, stuffed snakes, live butterfly kits or even a snack? We have those too!
