Macaroni Kid Kitsap's Non-Profit Organization of the Month:
Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation Supporting the KidsUp! Playground

Kids Can’t Wait to Play!

Longer, sunnier days, a safe and healthy community, and the new KidsUp! playground at Battle Point Park on Bainbridge Island– three great things to look forward to as 2021 unfolds!

After 20 years of play, the KidsUp! Playground had been loved to piecesWith the support of an advisory committee,  Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District and the Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation, a new KidsUp! Next Generation of Play is transforming the original location. Designed as an inclusive playground, with play features to welcome kids in wheelchairs or other mobility or development challenges will create fun for everyone!

The new playground is well under construction at Battle Point Park. The exciting play features are on hand and awaiting installation, including the climbable Orca whales ready to surprise and delight kids and families for generations to come. The expected opening date of the playground is July 2021. The Parks Foundation only has $50,000 left to raise to meet the campaign goal. Your gift will have a big impact and ensure that the playground opens on time.

All that’s left is to fund is the giant, one-of-a-kind Ferry Boat play structure, the playground centerpiece. All gifts are 100% tax-deductible. Here are a couple of ways that you can support the KidsUp! Playground:

Don’t Miss the Boat! Make a gift to support the giant Ferry Boat play structure, a one-of-a-kind marquee feature that will have kids sailing to imagination and adventure.

Sponsor a Play Feature – Prime opportunities remain for your family to sponsor an exciting play feature. Bring smiles to young faces on one of the great play elements including the Boulder Scramble, Tunnel Slide and Sound Garden.
